A Sure Foundation 12-23-15
Luke 2:49
[Jesus] answered [his mother], “Why did you have to look for me? Didn’t you know that I had to be in my Father’s house?”
In his ground-breaking book, A More Beautiful Question, Warren Berger reminds us that while knowing the right answers will help you in school, knowing the right questions will help you in life.
Asking good questions is the true beginning to learning and growing. Jesus had NO shortage of questions:
— Mom, why are you looking for me?
— Disciples, who do you say that I am?
— Man who cannot walk, will you get up?
— God, can this cup pass from me?
Questions open us to new information, they set us on a path of learning and they cause our curiosity to kick into high gear. See your questions as a gift and as a door through which new ideas and thoughts will come. Hmmmmm, maybe questions are a special kind of Christmas gift to send us into the new year, saying . . . I wonder.
