A Sure Foundation 12-24-15
Revelation 22:13
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Beloved, we stand on a sure foundation, and that foundation is the word of God. Over these past several weeks, you and I have explored new and old ways to understand Christ’s word. Now, as we stand at the cusp of the anniversary of His birth we remember, Jesus is the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Even as the morning dawns, He is already aware of the shape and the circumstances of the day. Even as the lights on the Christmas tree twinkle, He is the light that guides us forward. Even as we gather tonight to celebrate His birth, His hope and love are born in us anew and again with every breath we take. He is at the beginning of all things. He is at the end. And, in between, where we are right now, He is Emmanuel, the one who is with us. And we are blessed.
Stand, Beloved, on the sure foundation of God’s word and Christ’s love. And you will be blessed. Merry Christmas.
