“Jesus answered them, ‘Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.”
Faith is vital to our lives as Christians. Yet, the practice of it can be so difficult at times. I have an image of faith that I saw when I was a child. One of my cousins was standing on a staircase about 5 steps from the bottom. As my Dad walked by my cousin yelled, “Uncle Wiley, catch me,” and he took a leap into the air. My cousin was not the least bit anxious or concerned because he knew my Dad, his uncle, would catch him without fail. He had enough faith in his uncle to take a flying leap, enough faith to take that first step. That’s the kind of faith that moves mountains. May we have this kind of faith, a faith that allows us to take a leap as we strive to bring up there down here.
