Lenten Devotion — Thursday, March 14th, Guest Author, Jean Capellos
My sheep hear my voice: I know them and they follow me. No one can take them out of my hand and they shall never perish.
John 10: 27-28 Agnus Dei, The Lamb of God
The Shepherd of his people reassures us that we are dear to him and we are in his loving care as innocent lambs in his arms. What security is offered in such a gentle and gracious way! He walks with us and we are safe in his keeping. As we listen, we do not need to concern ourselves when death approaches because we live onto eternity. When we observe the Good Shepherd in the endearing image of the stained glass window, we are reminded that he is our protector, our guide in life everlasting.
PRAYER AND POEM
Little Lamb,Who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee? Little Lamb,I’ll tell thee! For he calls himself a Lamb,He is meek and he is mild, He became a little child, I a child and thou a lamb. Little Lamb God bless thee. Little Lamb God bless thee. -William Blake
