Lenten Devotion — Friday, March 29, 2019
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:28b, 29
Have you seen any flowers peeking up above the ground? I haven’t either. But, we know it has to happen at some point. After all, its Spring! When the daffodils and tulips, lilies and snowdrops pop up, they will bring with them such joy. And all they did was respond to the lengthening warmth of the day, the gentle spring rains and the nutrients in the soil. Gorgeous. They will be gorgeous.
And you know what, you are gorgeous too. May the warmth of the spring sun and the touch of a gentle breeze cause you to peek up too. And may you be surrounded by other spring people, popping up all around and sharing the beauty in our souls and hearts, a beauty more dazzling than anything King Solomon owned. Yes, you are simply gorgeous!
PRAYER: Lord, help me see the beauty you have placed in me and help me share it wherever I go, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made and I want my soul to know that very well.
