This I Believe:  Your Soul Is Priceless

Matthew 16:26

What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

What is your soul worth?  What would you exchange for it?  Your soul, and my soul, hold our life force.  Our souls are the beginning place of the image and likeness of God.  It is into our souls that God breathed and we became who we are.  It is out of our souls that we give of ourselves.

My friends, our culture is quick to invite us to sell our souls, to empty them out for work, for friends, for family and for gain.  But Beloved, our souls are priceless.  They are worth more than life, they are worth more than anything we can do.  Our souls are the part of our being that is eternal and is made to be with God.

Guard your soul.  Place it in the presence of God through quiet, through study, through nature, through music, in whatever way allows you to be with God.  Place it in God’s presence and welcome God to fill and strengthen, bless and guide, your soul.  For as your soul is whole and blessed, so shall all of you be.  This I believe.
