II Corinthians 10:4

For the weapons with which we fight are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 

The Apostle Paul reminds us, the weapons we have to fight against the ills of our world are not typical.  Our weapons are divine.  They are given by, and filled with, the power of the Spirit.  Our weapon of prayer is backed by the Spirit.  Our weapon of service is backed by the Spirit.  Our weapon of hope and faith, yes, they too are backed by the Spirit.  And all of our weapons are meant to bring down the things which are not of God.  Fear is not of God.  Greed is not of God.  Selfish ambition is not of God.  Hatred is not of God.  As we use our divine weapons to bring down these strongholds and others, God is with us.

Where do you see or experience things which are not of God?  Do not worry, you have weapons to fight against them.  Do not worry, instead, recognize your power and act.

May we use all our weapons to bring down what is not right and may we know that, indeed, God is with us.  This I believe.
