Small but mighty, our intrepid group of youth and chaperones headed to Red Bird in July, 2014. Our resident had lost her husband and son in a short period of time, but still had a big and generous heart. Because of her life challenges and her limited ability to do things for herself, we were assigned to work with her on her house. When we drove up in our white van she welcomed us with open arms. We spent a week in the various weather elements painting and building so that her home would be livable for her. Although she had been through much sorrow and loss she said every day that she was grateful for all God had blessed her with.
Our week with our resident taught us much about patience and faith. When back at the Mission we were able to meet and share in fellowship with others from around the United States.
Thank you Red Bird for giving us wings to fly.
