How CCB Gives

The Community Church of Barrington’s time-honored tradition of its holiday “Cookie Walk” has garnered more than $2,800.00 that will directly benefit several local, and regional organizations in 2015.

Each year (for more than 30 years!) at the Community Church of Barrington, the women of G.R.O.W. (God Renewing Our Women) bake thousands of holiday cookies. On the second Saturday in December friends and neighbors cue up in the Church Narthex hours before the cookie sale begins. Then, at the stroke of 10:00 a.m., the doors of the Fellowship Hall swing open and the annual Community Church of Barrington Cookie Walk begins.

This year, organizations that will directly benefit from Cookie Walk funds are:

JourneyCare’s Camp Courage is a weeklong summer day camp for children ages 6-13 who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Participants explore and express their feelings in a safe, supportive and fun environment, led by professionally trained counselors from JourneyCare.

LET-IT-BE-US-2

 

Let It Be Us is a nonprofit whose mission is to build awareness and inspire the adoption and care of foster children. Illinois, which has the third largest number of foster children in the U.S, “age out” of the foster care system without ever finding permanent families. Not only does the group seek to build awareness of adoption from foster care, they want to provide care for foster children who often live in group homes.

Located within the New Hope Christian Community Church in nearby Round Lake Heights, The Community Closet works to provide a place where local families in need can shop for clothes, toys and home goods at no charge to them. The Community Closet is donation-based and opens quarterly, on the third Saturday of the month.

Team Expansion is a Louisville, KY-based group which manages more than 320 full-time adult workers serving in 48 countries, planting more than 250 churches and bringing over 12,000 new believers into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

God has richly blessed us at the Community Church of Barrington, and now we embrace this opportunity to be a blessing to others. Congratulations to these wonderful groups that are making a difference every day in lives of women and children all over the world!

 The Missions Program is staffed by a group of dedicated members who direct a full 10 percent of Community Church’s income to helping others and worthy causes outside of the church.  Our missions funds are divided among local, regional, national, and worldwide causes.
