February 17 - April 3
ASH WEDNESDAY 7 PM: While we still are not able to gather, Reverends Chawalisz (St. Paul) and Barkley (Salem) and I have joined together to plan an Ash Wednesday service. The service will take place at 7pm on Ash Wedneday. Your Lenten Bag contains ashes so that you may mark your own forehead. While we will join in the Ash Wednesday service at 7 PM, we will also have a short meditation an Imposition of Ashes at 8 am on Ash Wednesday for those who cannot join us in the evening or for those who wish to wear their ashes all day.
THE BEGINNING OF LENT
Beloved, Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. By now you have received your Lenten Bag. Your special bag contains activities for our children and many options for you to observe the season of Lent. There are kisses, a small notebook and a pen so that you may capture your thoughts as we move thought this season. Additionally, five of our friends have joined me in preparing daily Lenten meditations which will be delivered to your email and our Facebook Page, Monday – Saturday, beginning tomorrow, Ash Wednesday. Your bag also contains a white rock (they give off a little dust). That rock will be important for our Easter Sunday (April 4th) Worship Service. So keep your rock nearby.
A new video series has been launched and season one is completed. The eight episodes of The Chosen are a view into the life of a Jesus you may not have ever met. Pastor Zina is inviting you to watch the episodes at your leisure (be careful, they are binge worthy) and we will meet, every Thursday, at 6 pm, for an hour discussion. To view the episodes (without cost, though they will ask you for a donation) please go to https://studios.vidangel.com/the-chosen/player. The full schedule will be noted in upcoming flashes. We will begin on Thursday, February 25th.
