So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

This text is commonly called, the “Golden Rule”. It is found within Jesus’ sermon on the Mount and is known by people who think of themselves as religious and those who do not. Jesus looks out at those gathered before him and says, in essence, here it is in a nutshell; here is what the law (the Torah) and the Prophets (all the major and minor prophets in the Old Testament) want you to do. They want you to treat all others with love, respect, regard and hope. Is that how you want to be treated? May we find ways to treat others well and may God return the blessing to us in unexpected ways.
